Chick Hearn, 1916 - 2002.

I can't believe he's gone.

Even though I don't really like the Lakers anymore (it's all about the Mavericks), I still fondly remember watching their games on TV, when they had Sedale Threatt and a very young Nick Van Exel playing guard, with Chick calling the game with Stu.

I loved how he would tell it like it is. Even though he was the broadcaster for the Lakers, he wasn't afraid to criticize his own team. He was notorious for always making fun of Shaq's free throw ability. (or lack thereof)

Good lord. Can you imagine watching/listening to a Laker game without him? As Magic said, "there will never be another Chick Hearn." Indeed.
